I bought a ratchet that says Matco but when i got the tool it says Silver Eagle . How do you compare this to blue point ? Did i get ripped off ? Or is this a good tool ?

Sliver Eagle is Matco's version of Blue Point. The tools are typically outsourced. If you like the way the ratchet works then keep it. Did you think you were buying a Matco ratchet?

It's taiwanese (usually) and rebranded (most definitely) (at least with the silver eagle stuff but the blue point stuff might be specifically made for snap on from an import mfg). Meaning you can find something very similar far cheaper. But then you don't get the truck warranty if that's what you want.
I use a bunch of the taiwanese tools, they're good, wouldn't pay truck prices for them though even if they're "exclusive to the truck".

Im a diesel mechanic so i have a pretty good selection of tools- it pays the bills!!
Im one of those guys that has a 7k+ snap on tool box, this is chump change to some ppl and living rich to others. I also have a craftsman toolbox in my home garage. To some people a toolbox is just a box, but over the years when you have that box loaded up their is a big difference from a benchtop to a snapon box, i never have to worry about my toolblox tipping over if a have one of the drawers wide open...
What im getting at is you pay a premium for certan snapon and matco tools but you are paying for the guy to come back to you and replace what you broke, to some thats nonsense, but when your elbows deep in a repair who wants to go to the local tool store?
I wouldnt sweat it on the rachet, im sure it will work fine.. Certain tools are better then others, believe me im not a diehard snapon guy that thinks if its armstrong or stanley its junk... Certain tools do the same thing from brand to brand, but when you start getting into speciality tools thats where my opinion changes....
btw- ive broke many rachets, mostly the teeth just get stripped out, but if your not using it everyday as in a profession it will be just dandy
