New garage is almost finished, yet the garage doors have been on order for 3 1/2 months, one interior door on order for 3 months, gutters are supposed to be installed Friday the 16th but I'm not holding my breath, and now the painter can't find paint.

I'm just ready for this garage to be finished, started in February.

Pandemic building is not a good time too build.

Everything ***** right now for stuff like this.

We ordered a new bed for my son 4 months ago. Each month, they push back the delivery date another month. We're up to November now. The original delivery date was last month.

That explains the crazy bidding on estate auctions. Freezers, beds, chairs, tables, just general home goods is crazy bids.
Plus, all the **** subs no one would ever hire are now getting top dollar.

I'm in the same boat, waiting on garage doors. Ordered 3 months ago, they came in. Well another month for them to come install them because they don't have labor to do installations. I would really like to have doors and get my building secured before I start electrical and finish out the interior, but I'm tired of waiting.

I have painters in the family and they are also reporting paint is difficult to find, even through their normally reliable sources.

Yep, eggshell and flat ceiling paint is out of stock around here.

And wouldn't you know it, make a post about delays and stuff starts happening. Interior door showed up, and the gutters were installed and hour ago, a day early at that! lol

Getting a small amount of vinyl siding for the roll up door/gable end of my garage. Told 12 - 13 week lead time. Been 8 weeks now; will be ready when it gets here!

Yup, 2.5 years ago I ordered 4 insulated garage doors and it was $9K for all 4 installed and it took 2 weeks for them to arrive from when I ordered. I emailed them to check price/lead time now for a friend and they said 4-6 MONTHS and $20K for same doors since material and **** went up so much. My steel building before took 10 weeks and cost $42K, now they said $90K and 4-5 MONTHS to deliver after ordered. It's crazy right now and even some car parts i've needing for my project are on backorder for 1 month, then 2, then 3, etc.

I am hoping it all gets figured out and prices come back down a bit when I want to build myself a new shop beginning/middle of next year.
I'm in the metal panel business. You may want to think end of next year. We're still having issues buying steel at all, and prices are still going up. Demand hasn't stopped either. I have this feeling that things are going to take a great big dump towards the middle/end of next year but, things are unpredictable right now....

I have never in my 70 years on this planet seen a time when so many products were simply unavailable or only available at absurd prices. I keep thinking it'll get better eventually but I don't see any sign of that happening soon.

The great TP shortage of last year was the harbinger of so many other things suddenly being in short supply. As to why a certain item would be hard to get, most of them make about as much sense as the TP shortage. It's like random items just go out of stock everywhere for no discernible reason.

There have been many times when I wanted something but didn't have the money to buy it, but never before did I have the money but still couldn't buy it as it's not available anywhere.

Strange times indeed.
