I wasn’t sure where to post this - technically these are new pliers, but are at the same time so old-school I decided this might be the right place. And the right audience to share with…

I’d seen this style before listed as Alexander Calder’s favourite for making the wire form artwork he did. And I’ve seen variations of these in the vintage forum. I had no idea they were still made. Thanks to my brother’s very interesting Xmas gift idea, I now proudly own a pair of Maun, made in England.

These are the 125mm size. Of particular use is the groove cut down the length of the bottom jaw, ideal for wire straightening. The wire cutter on the top jaw is interesting, and after just a little use I can already see how that can be useful. They don’t have as much leverage as Knipex pliers wrenches, but will be for a bit different uses.
