Getting ready to build my dream shop and just found GJ. Loving it. Will have lots of questions.

Researching two post lifts I am intrigued by portable Max Jacks. But I cannot imagine why Max Jacks would be a good option if it forces me to sit in an office chair to work underneath a vehicle. Am I missing something here? The obvious next question is what is the best two post lift for a hobbyist? Probably max weight ever would be a F150 (7000)?

The Max Jacks are also good for small garages where a permanent lift would take up all the space one uses to normally walk around the car. Others use it for rolling outside to an outdoor pad, where its not advisable to keep a permanently installed lift.

That all being said, I have a 12 foot lift and I do a lot of my work sitting on a chair underneath the vehicle. As you get "old", this is a hell of a lot more comfortable than standing up for hours on end.

The higher up a load is, the more critical balance and bracing becomes, also.

I have four post lifts and a two post lift. By far the four post lifts are the best to use and come with a lot less grief. Plus, they can more easily be used for storage. They are by far, my favorite.
