I just ordered mine from GES and it should arrive next week.

I wanted to know most conventional 2 and 4 post lifts have positive stops as the lift is raised up.

Does the Maxjax have this feature? Also can the Max Jax be raised lets say 2 feet and locked in position or it can only be raised and locked at the 4 foot position? I just want to make sure as this would determine the location in the shop for the install.

There are holes in the vertical frame piece you slide a bar into. I think there are two locations sort of mid rise and at the top. You can drill extra holes if you want, it is thick material.

The two heights for the saftey bars are 26" and 45" to the top of the lift pad. I think some people have added an additional one between the existing ones. Not sure that is supported by the lift maker. I have a MaxJax and looking at the column I cannot see how an additonal hole, say at 35", would in any way impact the integrity of the column.

I drilled 2 aditional positions for the safety stops. I had an structural engineer study my idea and he said I could drill up to 8 positions as long as the holes are 4 times the diameter apart. That s more or less 15 cms. Take care to "polish" the inside of the columns in order to clean the remaining of the drilling debris.
