Max Jax repair parts availability

One of the Pistons on my Max Jax is leaking. I bought it in 2010 when Danmar still owned it. Now I'm wondering that since Bendpak has taken it over, will I be able to get repair parts for the older model? Anybody have any experience with this? I'm not sure what they use for seals on this if it's o-ring or some other type of seal. Any information will be appreciated

I'd take it off and to a local hydro repair place, we just had one resealed for a 2 post for $305.

Local hydraulic shop has done both of mine over the years, had no issue with seals/parts.

Best option right there.

I've seen some of those hydraulics repair shops work absolute magic on excavator and tractor hyd cylinders. A simple rebuild is nothing to them.

The suggestion for hydro shops is a good idea.

However, if you insist on doing it yourself, there's a couple of threads here on GJ where folks have repaired the older MJ's, and have discusses sourcing the seals. There's also a few YT videos that do the same.

Like yourself, I have an older MJ with a leaking seal. I just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet since I have a 4 post now.

I'm curious how the OP made out. My Max Jax from the same year just blew a gasket. I left it in the up position for a few days with almost no weight on it, a Jeep tub, and it failed. I think my mistake was not relieving the hydraulic pressure, which I generally do. I will likely bring the cylinder somewhere and have it fixed. I'm short on free time lately.

Yeah, I was watching a YouTube video of someone changing the seal. Looks fairly easy. I guess I'll have to move changing the seal to the top of a very long To Do list.
