Maximum is a Canadian Tire brand here. But I'm not sure who makes it for them.
Canadian Tire has 2 lines for their tools. The Maximum branding means it's the better of the 2, usually has a lifetime warranty and as a SO fanatic, I have bought some of their Maximum stuff and am happy with it.

It's a different looking set, just thought someone collecting might find it interesting. At my house, my son would be using the set! So, no thanks...
I'll google Maximum when I get some time.. must be someone that knows what this is?

BTW, the set is still in the original unopened case. I'll make sure he hasn't sold it yet..
