Very nice! I like the color scheme.

Thanks!

Looking great in there. And that pool area is tops!

Thanks, the pool is a nice place to retreat after working in the garage all day. I like your idea with the privacy film for the windows. I will probably do the same. I will be replacing the garage doormat some point and was going to go with the obscure glass as that was the only option other than clear. I'm not a fan of obscure glass and don't want the garage looking like a bathroom

There is a wide range of products available, most of them are not my cup of tea :)

Max: sorry i missed commenting on your post of the pool, but i do remember showing my wife the pictures. it looks awesome.

nice work in the garage and are you planning on buying the extra race deck to finish the floor since i think you said it came out of your two car garage and now you have a 3 car? hopefully you can get a good match.

as far as going the cheap route with the exposed metal conduit and outlets i'd say you did an awesome job. paint colors are cool and nice choice.

keep posting pictures as you can and hopefully all those cool cars are working ok too.

have a great day

Thanks drivesitfar. I placed the order with Racedeck yesterday and the new tiles should be here tomorrow. I was fortunate enough to order through the same sales associate who had my last order on file. I emailed her the new floor plan and she did the rest. I had to order almost the same amount of tiles as I did for my old two car.

There is still so much to do. I'll post more pics as projects get completed.

I had to replace the fuel pump and sensor on the S4 last month but other than that they are doing ok.

I have to give Racedeck props (old school term lol) I placed the order with them Wednesday afternoon and they just arrived. I just wish UPS had delivered them before it was a 104 degrees out.

It will be interesting to see how the old tiles match up to the new.

Max: now that is service. you said you were happy with them on the phone so glad to hear they are awesome in all areas getting the product to you.

i'm guessing even though the old pieces you brought over from your old garage and already have on the garage floor are the same color and maybe even from the same batch they just might be dirty. if you know how to clean them up before installing the new ones i would and if you are not sure what product to clean the old one or all of them in the future i'd give the race deck sellers another call to see what they recommend.

i have rubber horse mats in my garage because i had a gym in my portion (2 single garages side by side) and in my wife's portion i had that area for doing some workouts where i could have some room or pull the spinner bike over there.

anyway i'm a bit jealous of your garage and pool at the new house so best of luck with the flooring install.

cheers

I've cleaned them using soap and water with a little elbow grease. I have to get a better saw blade to trim them better tomorrow. I also need to finish painting the garage door wall.

A few of the tiles came a little damaged from shipping. I sent them an email to see what they can do for me.

So I went to Home Depot to pick up a new saw table so I could trim out my flooring and left with this instead. My garage was 100 degrees yesterday afternoon so I figured I'd give this a shot until I get new insulated garage doors.

Finished installing it tonight and will test it out and give my review on it ( I hope it helps). Going to be 108 on Tuesday I hear.

Max: now that is a nice addition to your garage. let us know how it works. can you give us an idea how much using it adds to your electric bill which i know won't be easy to figure since you have a pool. also about how much you use it.

hope the Race Deck flooring installs pretty easy and looks as good as you hope it will.

good luck

You need a vintage first gen Quattro.

First gen would be sweet!

Got to putting down some race deck today and do some trimming. This was my biggest obstacle

I was going to just cut around it which would make it square. I decided to challenge myself to see if I could get it perfectly round using a hole dozer. It only took me three times to get it right.

I'm very pleased how it came out.

Max: was it the measure twice cut once theory you forgot or just too hard to measure? in any case it looks great now and i'm guessing you can use one of your mistakes for one of the edges.

how does the old floor match the new floor?

since i'm guessing it was maybe 100 degrees outside your garage how does that air conditioner work inside?

Cars, sports and bars are important to me. This what I've done so far. As I tell my wife....things in here are always subject to change.

First setup

We found extra tiles from the previous owner and I thought what the hell, I'll put them in the bar top

Then I got to thinking...and picked these up from Home Depot

Max: i still remember most of the early 70's Oakland A's because they were my team. most of them went to the Yankees when free agency started so the players kept winning with a different team.

cheers and since Barry is gone you can draft our Seahawks that have been playing ok lately.

Yeah, Free agency ruined that team. I've been a Lions fan since Sanders. I'm still a fan and one day, one day I might just see them in the Super Bowl...Modest dreams I know. Oh I do like Golden Tate! He has worked out well :lol_hitti

Max: happy you like Golden but we had to let him go to keep our QB. i don't remember Barry ever getting hurt before he quit. did he? what a talent.

i'm not a big football, baseball or basketball fan these days but i still like sports in general other than golf that i became a pro at about 15 years ago.

cheers and congrats on the new floor.

Max are you on Audizine? I have a B8 S4 also, just love it. If so funny your on here also!

Pole in front of the water heater, i have one also, makes a great vice stand! Like your color scheme.

How do you like the tire rack? Need to get some tires off the floor and was looking at those.

I never liked golf...but since I'm retiring, I have thought about it but my wife says NO! lol

Barry had some minor injuries here and there but nothing that ever kept him down for long. He was fun to watch!

HA Yes I am...I have not been on AZ for a while though. B8's are awesome!

The tire rack is great but the holes didn't match up to the studs in the walls. I had to add more lumber for support. At the time I thought it was a great location but getting the wheels up there was real pain!

Nooooooo! I ran out of tiles :( 15 short!

But on a brighter note, 2 of my 3 work benches came in. I know a lot of people take pride in building their own benches and cabinets but I just don't have the patience. So I went with New Age Products. Fairly simple to assemble and I think it looks good. I only put the 48" together, I'll do the 72" tomorrow.

15 off? hahaha. Place your next order yet? Bench looks good, fits in well. Nice job painting the bottom of the wall and a bit of the floor. I've found it really helps tie in the floor with the wall.

Max: are you short because of the damaged ones or just because you didn't want to order too many? looks good and can you post up a couple of full size shots of your floor and shop.

i like old steel and wood benches, but that one you bought looks ok for what you are using it for.

might i suggest you look at the vise stand thread and maybe your pole in front of your furnace or water heater can become a vise or grinder stand or both with a little modification.

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=252799&highlight=vise+stands

or there are a few other options for mounting vises and grinders you might like if you are going to have those tools in your garage.

In my old garage, I trimmed a lot of the tiles to fit the edges. I brought those to the new house but they weren't gonna work so I tossed them. When I ordered the rest of the flooring, I made the mistake of using the figures from my previous order.

I always had wood in previous garages and wanted to do something different. So I decided to go with a more modern and sleek look. Time will tell how they will hold up. The benches are pretty sturdy but I know the stainless tops will get scratched eventually. It was a tough decision whether to get the stainless or bamboo top. I can always change that in the future.

There are some nice ideas on that link you sent....food for thought!

The garage is still a mess but i'll post up something in a couple.

Can't see much of the floor I'm afraid. I'm hoping to have a lot more organized in the next few days.

Made some progress this weekend. Finished painting finally, cleaned up a bit and installed the CE Tech in wall system.

Anyone who knows me, knows I hate hanging or loose wires. It gives me anxiety! I took care of some of that with this in wall kit.

Looks a lot cleaner I think and I actually installed right the first time! I usually screw things up and have to fix it.

Hey bud, still short on RD? I have 90 tiles of white left in my garage. You can have 15 tiles for free if you want? Let me know - I'm in Dublin

Got to mopping the floor today so it matches the rest of the RD tiles. Also made room so both girls can park inside. Still lots to do though but it's getting there.
