Installed a MaxJax last weekend without any issues. My first project is to install a new high performance exhaust in my BMW Z4. Looking for the proverbial set of second hands, my immediate thought was an "under hoist stand." The problem is everything, at a reasonable price, starts at around a minimum 55" in height. Too tall for working under my car using MaxJax.
Here are two ideas I am considering. Supporting weight is not a big issue here. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.
Option 1: Purchase, cut, and weld a 3/4 ton single post underhoist stand (found one online for about $60.00)
Option 2: Purchase a cheap hydraulic bottle jack (2-ton or less), remove the existing extension screw and saddle, install a new threaded rod, and fabricate a simple saddle (probably less than $30.00)
