Any folks in Northern VA that have installed one? So I am looking at a purchase and looked up code for my garage slab thickness and according to Loudoun County it is min thick as 3.5. Most of the folks in the residential construction arena say that 4 is the standard. But who knows when they poured how thick it was...
I know the only real way to tell is drill a few test holes, which I will do, but did not know if anyone in the NOVA area has a lift etc. that could chime in.
In that same line of thinking how many holes to drill and where? I don't want to drill them two close to where I would put the lift in case there is overlap but want to get a good general idea of thickness. I know the thickness can vary from 1-2 inches in areas depending on the pour. Also just by surveying construction sites in my area and looking at garage slab thickness most are well over 4 inches, at least on the edges.
If it turns that my concrete/garage is not up to spec for a two post MaxJax I would invest in cutting out a hole and sinking a scissor, atlas or otherwise vs. the cost of the concrete removal/replacement with the right stuff.
