MaxJax cylinder leaking

My MaxJax started leaking last night after I left it up about a foot with no weight on it. Big puddle of hydraulic fluid around one post. I know its been done before, what advice can y'all give me about having the cylinder rebuilt/replacing the seals? It really puzzles me that there was almost no pressure on it and its never leaked like this before with even my Porsche Cayenne on it. I left my Cayman on it for 3 weeks while replacing the clutch a few years back too.

Take the cylinder to any hydraulic service place who rebuilds cylinders.
I just did one cylinder on my Dannmar scissor lift, was charged $80 with a 3 day turnaround.

search “ hydraulic repair”

my leak came from the vent hole, and got worse over the next couple of months.

I agree with having your cylinder rebuilt. Rebuilding cylinders is very commonly done by Hydraulic Repair Shops. I did field service work for one in San Diego. I In addition to onsite repairs and trouble shooting, I pulled leaking cylinders from Balers and Compactors, took them to the shop and reinstalled them after the shop rebuilt them.

Thanks, I located a local guy yesterday and will talk with him about rebuilding my cylinder, might even get him to just do both while he's at it as a preventative.

Just got my MaxJax installed and working and I have a leaky cylinder from the get go!

Not impressed so far!

I’m hoping it’ll be covered under warranty; not sure how Bendpak will handle it though...
