MaxJax dimensions Needed

Can someone please provide the dimensions on the picture below? Trying to do some pre-planning for a MaxJax install, but you really can't figure arm reach without these two dimensions.

Also the dimension of the rollers outside the plate would be useful as well (how close can you put it to a wall?)

Thanks,

I can get them for you tonight when I go home if nobody else does sooner.

Are you aware that they have recommended installation widths. I think I did one set of mine at 130" to the outside of the plate (can fit a full size truck) and 120" to the outside for the other set (mostly for car use up to midsize).

Keep in mind "edge distances" for installation of anchors. The Wej-it PD-58 anchor they provide has a 4-3/8" edge distance, so you can't get any closer than that to the edge of your slab (or to any saw cuts). You may be able to do different things with epoxy set anchors, but you'll have to check with the manufacturer.

I store mine "wheels out".

Guessing any closer that 4-3/8" would be impossible next to a 2x4 framed outer wall with 1/2" wall board, that's 4" add any baseboad trim and the wheels to outside of base plate, probably closer to 6" from edge of slab.

Good point. I wasn't considering other garage slab setups. My garage is built with 4' frost walls and the slab poured inside the perimeter of the wall, so it would be possible to install it tight to the edge of the slab if someone was so inclined.

A few quick thoughts...

From a practical point, you'll be storing the columns with wheels facing inwards (away from the wall) so you can tilt the column and roll on the wheels.

The hole spacings are a little more than 5", so adding three more anchors in the right places allows you to move a column about 5" tighter or looser. With the columns at the wider position, the baseplate covers an extra "inner" row of anchors for that flexibility.

When installed, you will want to allow for space outside the column(s) big enough for you to pass. With a vehicle raised on the lift, the arms block your access between vehicle and the columns.

I installed mine with 132" outside pad spacing on the widest set of anchors. That works well for me with two cars (Porsche and Honda Pilot) that have lift pads under the rocker sills. For K's 4Runner with lift points on the frame rails not out under the rockers, I move at least one column in a row of holes so the arms will still be spread enough. I usually want to have enough room between car and column to get a door open wide enough to get in and out of the driver's seat, and 126" outside spacing is just barely enough. Smaller cars can use less.

I added a couple extra anchors at the parking place for the columns when not in use. The ground moves here once in a while, and I'd rather not have those columns out "walking around" with the cars.

The outside edge of the wheels are 3-1/4" from the edge of the base plate.

The arms pushed in (D?) are 30" from the centerline of the pin to the outside edge of the pad. With the arm fully extended (E?) the length is 43-1/2.

When I installed my MaxJax, I used 130" for the dimension C. This worked out for lifting both my '87 and '02 Corvettes.

As mentioned, it would be a good idea to keep the posts far enough from a wall so that you can walk between them. Also think about the space you will need to do something like taking a wheel off the car. I would recommend a minimum of 36" between a wall and the outside edge of the vertical post.
