Does anyone know if there is a fail safe built into this lift? For example, lets say I am lifting my truck to the top position and one of the hydraulic lines bursts? or a fitting explodes?

Normal lifts have ratcheting stops that are passed as the lift rises. Would a hydraulic blow out or leak on the MaxJax cause the affected column to have a complete failure and lower to the floor?

I realize the safety bars are a fail safe of sorts, but this isn't what I'm talking about.

According to the Features page there are self installed locking bars in the posts once it's up and "velocity-fuse safety valves" in the lift cylinders. If you lose hydraulic pressure they're supposed to close if the fluid shoots out of them above a certain flow rate.

As for what would happen to a vehicle on the lift if this happened? More than likely it would happen as the lift engaged the load so it might slip a few inches back to the floor or less, depending how fast it lifts.
