I am happy to report that I finally heard from Dannmar yesterday afternoon. They are sending out the notice letters to the shipping address in their database, because this is the only information they have. If you bought a Maxjax in the time period mentioned before and had it shipped to a different address then your home, you need to get hold of them in California. My lift is not defective:thumbup: They said they are working with the government about the recall and hope to have this all resolved in a couple of weeks. They will then contact every customer. I am satisfied.

I just got off the phone with Dannmar. Sounds like they are going to replace everyone's lift that falls within the dates.

I have one of the affected lifts and have been in contact with Danmmar. I bought my lift 1-29-15 and the day after I received it is when I was contacted by Summit Racing saying not to us it. (Just My Luck!) What aggravates me is I was sold the lift after the date on the letter! To me this should not have happened.

I was emailed this information from Danmmar which states.

((((The lifts that were involved with some issues were from:

As our original letter explained, our review of the welding reveals that the block on the lift head carriage assemblies for MaxJax 2-Post Lifts, purchased between September 2, 2014 and January 14, 2015 with serial numbers in the range of #16898 through 16964 and #17268 through 17438, may not have adequate welds. Although no one has been hurt and while this problem impacts only a very small number of the Dannmar MaxJax Two Post Portable Lifts sold by Dannmar Equipment Inc, we regret that your particular unit is part of the lot in which this problem may occur.)))

Hers are some pics of mine.

Hi Guys! This is Serj from Dannmar Equipment. As some of you know, I have been sitting in the wings watching this thread as we have gained a large number of customers from this very forum. We want to take care of our customers and part of that is keeping track of what people talk about when it comes to us and our products.

That all being said, I am writing this post to let you all know that we are getting parts ready to ship regarding the safety notice sent out. The CPSC is processing our final actions and we will be taking care of everyone pending approval from them. We are truly sorry to have kept you all this long without official word, but sadly the CPSC had our hands tied and we couldn’t say anything in a public capacity. I leave any questions to you guys and will answer the most recent post.

383FormulaS: The reason that you received a letter was because Summit Racing buys lifts in bulk and holds on to them in their stock. You may have bought it after the dates in the notice, but we shipped to them during the time frame specified.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a long history on this forum as I will be perusing the posts for interesting things, feature ideas, good looking cars, etc in my downtime here. Thank you again for your patience and feel free to post if you have any questions!

I just wanted everyone to know that I have finally installed my MaxJax after swapping carriages with Dannmar and all is well. The lift works perfectly and I am completely satisfied with the results and the safety of this lift! Serg at Dannmar has been extremely helpful thru this process and the I am a happy camper. Dannmar's customer service is excellent and no one should be worried about using this lift IMHO!

I ordered one on December 26, 2014 and just got notification that it the carriages would be shipped out today. Almost four months after ordering my MaxJax.

This has been a terribly disappointing customer service experience for me; I'm glad you guys have been treated better. I'm looking forward to getting this whole ordeal behind me and using this lift.

The long delay was due to the US government being involved in the recall process, not because Dannmar dragged it's feet.

I respectfully disagree as to the cause of the delay.

The cause of the long delay was due to Dannmar not monitoring quality control during production and releasing a defective product with a significant safety defect out to the public.

The result is that a long delay was involved due to the US government having to get involved in an extensive recall process.

I would have to agree with AlwaysFix'nCars the quality control of a product is very important. If you are making an item one way and then change it to a way to reduce the time spent on that part of the assy. well it is just a time and money thing .IMHO.
Makes one wonder on what other part of the assy. would any company change so it could save time and money.IMHO
