I still don't see the point in using high lift tall jack stands when using the maxjax... if you are using the metal bars in the columns then the weight is on those as opposed to the cylinders, yes?
Just seems like a lot more work and things to get in the way of an already cramped lifting height?
I would suspect that IF the concrete fails where the column is wouldn't the car fall or even put more strain using the high lift jack stands wince it's a smaller footprint?
If one was not using the safety bars then I could see the need for such high lift stands but in all sense of the things they just seem pointless unless you are removing a transmission and the weight WILL shift, at which point the separate jack stands would continue to balance the weight of what the arms are doing so that the weight distribution doesn't change.
