I just noticed tonight that one column has a black rubber seal coming off at the bottom of the cylinder. I did find a little bit wet around there but didn't see any further fluid coming out.

Does anyone else have this issue? It's the black rubber piece located at the bottom of cylinder. I'll try to take some quick picture.

here are the pictures. I found that rubber piece was off when lifting the car tonight. I didn't took pictures at that time. just went to garage to take these pictures with my cellphone by laying column down on the ground.

is it sealing the fluid or doing something else? I found that I could shake the cylinder a bit on this column when the cylinder was at the raised/lifting position. by comparing with another column, this rubber piece should be inside the "cylinder ring" to fill up the gap between cylinder ring and cylinder. Is there a way that I can push it back?

Looks like it's just a dust shield to me. Like a dirt scraper seal to keep dust and dirt from entering the cylinder.
Contact Danmar to be sure.

I actually thought this wouldn't be a problem, but my maxjax started lifting unevenly today, and now I notice a puddle of hydraulic fluid on the base of the column where the "seal" is out. Not sure why, but the column with the bad seal lifts a little faster then the other. Guess it's time to attempt a repair

weicm3, did you ever get to call Dannmar, and if so, what did they tell you?

Edit: This *****. I tried getting that 'o' ring/dust seal back into place, but can't do it. Now I wonder what Dannmar will do? Maybe ship me that whole hydraulic cylinder and then I ship back the old one? That won't be cheap

Looks like another import quality issue"-a dangerous one at that . If the outer dust seal failed what about the inner seals? Danmar needs to take care of this issue ASAP! The ram has to be taken apart to fix.

Sorry not updating this. I contacted Marco and Gabe next day and they took care of this problem for me.

FlameOut, give them a call and I'm sure they will help you out.

Kudos to Dannmar! I will not hesitate to purchase another MaxJax or any other equipments they're selling when I need.

I was wondering the same. Did they replace entire 'strut' or maybe have someone come to repair it?

Watching for a response too...as I currently have a 5300+ pound car up on my lift. I'll have to check those seals on mine.

This is really early in the life of these lifts for parts to be failing.. 6 months old at most!!

I've got this problem too. What did they do? It doesn't seem to be effecting anything right now, but don't want a failure later.
