How much distance is needed from the center of the lift posts to the garage door?

I am trying to determine the best placement for a lift pad for the potential future installation of the lift. Not sure yet but trying to prep the floor just in case.

I figured 10' to center.

Any suggestions?

Unless you saw something that I missed, unfortunately...no it doesn't.

What I am looking for is the one measurement that's not on that list.

I am looking for the measurement from the center of the lift columns to the back of the vehicle, so to speak. I relaize that this will vary with different vehicle types. I am trying to get an idea of what others have done. I want to place the lift as close to the garage door as possible with just enough room to walk around the back of the vehicle with a car on the lift.

From the looks of things, that will depend entirely on where the lifting pads beneath the vehicle are. Get out the ol' measuring tape.

gatchel,

Use the car you will be lifting as a template and layout your Base Dimensions (14.5"wide by 13" deep) at the center of the vehicle and you should be good, beware of overhead obstructions that may limit your lifting height. Hope this helps..

Please call me if you have any further questions.

Thanks as Aways,
