Maxjax malfunction

Picture taken today
Happens only when the maxjax is going down. When going up it rises perfectly.
I've had the maxjax installed in the same location with the same car for2 months. No change of hoses or any thing .
When going down it makes noises like a squeak.
After this picture I stopped lowering the maxjax and suddenly it kind of jumped in several stages until it leveled itself
Columns lubricated
No comments on the mess please!

Any thoughts ?
Any ideas ?
Any solution ?

Where's the noise I coming from? The columns or the pump/flow divider?

The columns
The are correctly lubricated.

It always stops coming down on the same column. But if I hit the central piece that holds the yellow arms with an impact convincer it starts coming down in jumps or stages

It's called cylinder stick-slip or stiction.Caterpiller makes a product that is called Anti-chatter.It has been said to eliminate this problem on MaxJax immediately.

+1 on the anti-chatter Cat product. Also, check the alignment of the base of each hydraulic ram. Make sure their as close to plumb as possible.

When I've had one side stop and the other continue to lower, I've found that "feathering" the lowering valve helps. Don't know if it would do so given your predicament but worth a try.

I think the Cat product will solve your problem, though.

I had this problem when I loaded a S10 pickup a bit off balance. It would bind going back down. Checked online and found it was a common problem if you weren't balanced. I also found that while I had thought I had lubricated the columns enough, it wasn't nearly as well applied as needed. I later relubed them with several tubes of grease fully around the inside of the columns and all the problems went away.

I believe the Cat anti-chatter product would be a good start for this as well.

Is the system bled correctly? :dunno:

If your problem (unbalanced lifting) is going up then : bleed, bleed, bleed....

If your problem ( unbalanced as my case ) is going down then: lubricate, lubricate, lubricate

Assuming in both cases that your car is properly balanced beetwen the columns..., specially going down the problem arises
