OK so I disconnected my hydro lines at the pump because I needed to make room in the shop. When I go to plug them back in they wont go, neither side will engage. Why?

The disconnects at the posts engage and disengage just fine. I even tried switching the ends of the hoses from post to pump and they still will not engage at the pump end. What the hell is going on here?

There must still be pressure in your pump. Use a bungee cord to hold down the release lever when you attach your connectors at the pump end.

If there were still pressure in your lines, it should be impossible to attach either end of your hoses to either the pump or the columns. Since one side works, I'd have to say it's pressure build-up in your pump.

Did you try relieving the pressure by pushing on the power unit release lever? That should release fluid pressure and let the fluid back to tank. Then you can connect the quick couplers.

I did try that. I guess I'll try the hold down method while connecting the line at the same time.

I found out the hard way to let ALL of the pressure out of the lines before disconnecting!@@! I nearly couldn't get them back on at either the pump or the columns....Made sure next time to lean on the lever a little longer and no more difficult connections. ALso, make sure you hold onto the knurled end when pushing on...

I haven't had that issue and I am pretty sure that once I had disconnected the lines before the arms were 100% down.

I needed to clean up an oil spill (unrelated to the lift) where one of the arms would contact the floor,so I lowered the arms until I could remove them from underneath the car. Then I disconnected the lines so I could pull the car out. When the mess was cleaned up, i reconnected the lines to lower the arms all of the way down.
