You're not screwed, you just have to fix it yourself......If you have the sticking problem, the answer is to sand off the coating inside the column that the slides ride on. Once you have it cleared off, lube it up and it should work the way it was designed.

Thanks Jag, I've read about that and when I get back home (November) I'll work on it. I will get it fixed.

maybe someone has had a similar issue to me. ive read some issue that are kinda the same but dont describe my exact problem.

the issue i have is shaking when going up. you can see the top of the lift shake back and forth as the car bounces. it only happens that i have notice if i stop going up, then start going up again. it will be smooth but once i stop it and then restart going up it starts shaking and bouncing. it terrifying as it looks like it will try and rip its the anchors out of the floor. the shaking/bouncing is gone or very little if when i stop going up, i let it down onto the locks fully then start going up again. its almost as if it starts going up fully pressured its not happy, but if it starts with no pressure and builds up to full lift pressure its no problem. i bought this used and mentioned it to the PO and he said he had similar issues but just lived with it. i tried bleeding with no change and also sanded the inside down and completely coated the blocks and inside track with white lithium grease. its a little better but still bad shaking. it lifts and lowers evenly with oneside lifting maybe 1" higher than the other.

when i sanded the inside tracks down i wasnt able to get to bare metal like mentioned as it would have taken hours. but if thats the solution if anyone has a tool they would recommend that would save a ton of time i am all ears

its a danmar mx6 lift

The newest version of the maxjax which I believe just started shipping, is ALI certified. Does that come with an increase in max lift weight or is it still 6,000 lbs?

A user in another forum stated the certified version of the maxjax can lift 9,000 lbs. I could not find any information that verified this on the maxjax website - is this true? Or is this just “overengineered” max weight estimate?

Reason I ask - I plan to lift everything from a roadster to a VW Vanagon Westfalia - the latter of which can weigh upward of 5,500 lbs, which is near the stated max lifting weight of the maxjax. I’d be thrilled if the maxjax max lifting weight has been increased beyond 6,000 for peace of mind. If not, I may look at the Triumph c7000 which can lift 7,000 lbs (and I currently have the extra height required).

A number of yrs ago, we purchased two decorative 8 ft metal columns that were covered with decades of paint. So we set up the columns up outside and blasted away. so it sounds like an opportunity to set up a portable sandblaster. Surround the Colum with heavy plastic tarp etc. and blast away, and you will be able to get to bare metal pretty quick.
As soon as the metal is bare, you may want to look a putting on a light metal primer so the steel won't flash!
Enjoy - AL

I just installed my new MaxJax (from Bendpak) and it’s rated at 6K.

One of my cylinders started leaking (bad seal) right away; Benkpak is shipping me a complete new cylinder. When asked what I should do with the old one (thinking they might want it back), the reply was toss it or have it rebuilt locally for a spare.

So far, I’ve been impressed with customer service...

How I lift mine. There is a wooden dowel at each corner that goes into the hole where the lifting pads usually reside. As you can see I prevent the mower from rolling off by tying it down with a ratchet strap. And if I need to take it somewhere, like to a shop, I can lower the lift to the appropriate height and roll the mower into the pickup truck bed.

Know you tell me. 😜
I tried the way Noltz posted not too and realized really quick, not good.
My idea was was quickly thought of and just for lifting but I’m switching to the drive on. Thanks for posting.
