MaxJax unload question

Hi,
I ordered a MaxJax and having it shipped to my house. Quite a few people mention this, and i was just curious as to how specifically people unloaded it. Some said in pieces. What do i need to prep to take it apart and into pieces? How many helpers should i have? What tools? (forklift's not an option). I'm sure the driver is not going to be interested in sticking around while i mess with this.

There is an angle iron frame top and bottom that is bolted to the verticals and then everything is shrink wrapped in place. A set of wrenches and a utility knife are the extent of the "disassembly tools" that you will require.

Jim, when I received mine, I had it shipped to a trucking company in Irwin. I see you are also from Pittsburgh. so maybe you could have it shipped there?

I received mine over 2 months ago, and just yesterday and today started assembling it. Only tools you will need to dismantle from delivery truck is a 3/4" wrench/socket. I believe it's a total of 8 bolts attaching it to the temporary shipping frame. Takes no time at all to remove them

The individual columns are heavy, but with a few people you should be able to remove them from the truck. I used my engine hoist to remove the top column from the temp shipping frame, only because I was doing it alone. The bottom was no problem

be careful and don't catch your finger like i did. I grabbed it from the column and it slid down and gave me a very deep laceration on the 2nd knuckle.

I paid for the lift gate delivery. They lowered the price of the MaxJax to make up for the extra cost.

If you have to do it alone. Why is a forklift not an option? That would be the safest way to remove it. For you and the equipment.

It can be unpacked in the delivery truck in maybe 45 minutes by yourself with a utility knife (cut the stretch wrap) and 3/4" wrenches (8 bolts to unbolt columns from shipping angle frames).
If you get one extra help and two sets of wrenches, maybe 15 minutes.
If you have a ramp, you can just roll the columns down the ramp otherwise two people can lift one column at a time.
The hydraulic cylinder can also be removed to lighten up the column.

I know, this is an old thread, but I thought I'd share my unloading experience.

Just got my MaxJax today and unloading wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The whole process probably took less then half an hour. I first took everything apart in the truck and unloaded everything except for the columns.

Before the truck arrived, I've built a ramp out of two 1/4" plywood sheets supported by two 4x4. The ramp came out at approximately 2'x8' in size and really helped unloading the columns. I was by myself and did not expect any help from the driver, so the plan was to use a rope threaded through the holes in the base plate and lower the columns over the ramp while holding the rope; but the driver was super nice and helped lowering the columns.

Tools needed: utility knife to cut the plastic packaging, pliers to break the steel strap locks, a wrench to remove 10 bolts that hold the columns to the shipping rig. Not sure what the bolts are exactly (I used one adjustable wrench), but they seem to be 22mm and 23mm for the nuts.
