Folks, I am looking for suppliers/retailers of the MaxJax.

It seems that every time I type their product name into Google, all I get are links to videos and forums.

MaxJax sent me a Canadian retailer listing, but I'm not wanting to get taken to the cleaners dollarwise; $2599 + $585 shipping...yeah, right! :rolleyes2 At that price, I have countless other lift options.

Since some offer free whipping within the US, I'm close enough to the border and I'm willing to pick up.

So where did you get yours?

Thanks!

Princess Auto stocks them at $2499, and will load it into your truck.

I got them down to $2060 by showing them an old Babco ad for $1995; they don't price match but were willing to deal on the floor model.

I was told they will no longer sell them once the current ones are gone so you can certainly use that for leverage to deal on the price. Go right to a manager, the counter guy I spoke to said they couldn't sell the floor model; I called back and the manager made the deal.

Princess Auto list them for $2599.99 plus another $585 for shipping.

I'm not really interested in dealing Canadian till they wise up on pricing. I do most of my shopping stateside.

Thanks!

Equip tool lists it at 2239 with free shipping.

Thanks! That looks more promising.

Keep them coming, although I think thats about the price with free shipping.

I wonder what happened that they took a big price jump from a year ago. Did they double the wages in China? :dunno: There was a group buy on a car forum where they got them for $1800 shipped within the US...that was also a year ago.

Ah, I assumed you had a store local to you. I agree the Canadian pricing is ridiculous.

Your comment got me thinking, so I called Princess Auto. The $2599.99 MaxJax price at Princess Auto is "in store", but I'd still need a truck to pick it up. The $585 shipping cost is only if you order it "on-line".

I've got to crunch some numbers.

I see that Costco has them listed at $2,300 ,Shipping & Handling included .

Look into Canada Costco or possible just over the boarder store pickup.

Got mine in a group buy directly from Danmark for IIRC $1,899 including shipping. Probably a little more than a year ago.

Did not get one yet, but looking. Costco, but you need to be a member, $2,299.99 S&H included.

I am a member. That is Costco US pricing, but worth looking at.

Maybe we should start a group buy and contact one of the retailers.

Anyone up for a group buy? I wish I would have jumped on the last few that were offered.

Last September, Costco Canada had the MaxJax on sale for $1699.99 including shipping. It was a time limited sale from Sept 5th to 18th. I noticed that on their site the 7th. Then a day later, the sale offer was removed. I took it up with them and they used every excuse under the sun...that it was a mistake...not likely if it was time limited.

Anyway, I am in for a group buy.

I sent off an email to Dannmar. Lets see where this goes. If I can get something going I will start a new thread for the group buy. Thanks!

So would I.

When you consider the Kwik Bay 7000 goes for $1995, the MaxJax should cost less.

Not too far from me they hold HUGE car swapmeets. They have all kinds of new stuff, junk, garage stuff, and cars for sale. They usually have a lot of vendors selling lifts. I will most likely get one there if there are no good pricing.

Heres that swap meet. I have met people that have actually come from England to go there.

Costco recently had them on sale for $1999 with free shipping. Being the cheapskate that I am, I wanted to avoid the taxes so I called around to see who would match the price. In fact, when talking to Dannmar to better understand how shipping works, they suggested I contact Garage Equipment Supply and see what they'd be willing to do. So I was able to get three different places to price match Costco but GES went a bit farther and sold it to me for $1930 shipped/no tax with loading by forklift at the terminal when picked-up. I took it.

Doubt you'll get that today without some reason for them to price match but I do think you can get them to be the lowest price if you call them. They were great to deal with.

I received the lift in like 3 days. Picked it up at the local terminal 3 miles from my house and had it on my trailer in like 15 minutes.

Things never go that smoothly for me....

In case anyone wants to know where all the components are made, this is the response I got from Dannmar...

Hydraulic Pump: USA (MTE Hydraulics)
Motor Assembly : Mexico
Hoses and Fittings: China
Hydraulic Flow Divider: USA (MTE Hydraulics)
Hydraulic Cylinders : China (less than .8% failure Rate)
Structure: China

They have this one also. $1,395 Just have to watch how much you go up.

Nice lift and price, but I'm not into two-post lifts unless I can store one of the posts when not in use. I was planning on leaving the post near the wall permanently installed and install the one closest to the center of my two-car garage as needed. This way I'm not cluttering up my garage.

IF I can get the MaxJax at the right price, I'll go for it, otherwise I'll go with my original plan and install a scissors lift below grade in my garage. I've been looking at the Hemi Roadrunner for a long time. All components have a 2-year warranty.

Either way, I have to do some concrete work.

Did not see how much they are. The BendPak one is $1,900.
Make me think of something. I have not poured my garage floor yet. If I decide to go with a scissor lift maybe I should have my floor countersunk where it would go. Only concern I have with the scissor lift is my buddy has one and it is tearing up the concrete where it rolls.

Place some strips of 1/8" thick stainless steel where the rollers roll and at the other end.

Steve, any response yet.

And if you do start a "MaxJax Group Buy" thread, can you place a link to it on this thread.

Got word back from Dannmar and they said they would not be able to do a group buy at this time. I am going to reach out to Garage Equipment Supply and see if there is anything they can do. I will post when I hear back. Thanks!

First post for me, hopefully it will be helpful. Babco has these for $2579 with the caveat: "Price includes delivery to many locations in Canada. Contact us for a Quote to your location."

I just got off an online chat with Babco and they have a new location in Mississauga where you can pick it up and they will deduct $100 if they're not shipping it.

I actually have my eye on a Bendpak HD-9/HD-9ST, but would consider a Dannmar if the group buy includes 4-posters.

EDIT: Oh, here's the link:

Thanks for doing the legwork, Steve.

The last buy from Dannmar that a local owner took part in, got it for $100 or $200 less (can't remember which), so shopping around may be a good option.

Well they'll have to do better than that by $79 and include shipping and taxes.

Kristi from Garage Equipment offered me the lift last week for $1999 shipped and threw in the roller chair. I called Friday and inquired how much the lift would cost, Kristi called me back Friday night and left me a message if I was interested she could give it to me for the $1999.

I was busy Saturday but decided to call back Saturday night at 8pm, she answered! I ended up buying the lift Saturday at 8pm, she processed the transaction from home and send me the invoice. I thought that was awesome.

Kristi can be reached at [email protected], buy the lift from here if you do call Garage Equipment.

Damn, I thought I had a low post count for being one of the first members here.

Anyways, is this where you got your MaxJax from http://www.gesusa.com/Dannmar-MaxJax-Two-Post-Lift-p/1375659.htm ? 2k including shipping sounds good to me.

Where have you found it for $2500 tax and delivery included to Canada? I'd like to see what they sell the Commander 7000 for. By the way delivery is included unless you live in Nunavut or some other remote location.

I would be in for a group buy as well. Other than babco both Princess Auto and Costco do not stock in London, ON. I can head over to Port Huron but want to avoid the cross border hassle and ship charges.
