Maxline Air Line Install

I've read lots of posts on running air lines in a garage and decided on installing the Rapidair 3/4 inch Maxline kit. I thought I would start a thread documenting the install.

I bought the kit that came with 3 connection blocks and 100 feet of tubing. I purchased another block and tee as well as 2 more tees that reduce to 1/2 NPT for connecting to so.e hose reels.

Just started laying things out and putting in the blocks. I installed a 3/4 regulator to start the run and started placing the blocks. Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.9a02d4bd6af2cd0c395f9e88acf9235c.jpge60301709d7c56e101021d24be979ca0.jpg0493b5b50b81fecc611fcf599f639ac2.jpga999a96cb27fc2a9c75ea6ffe72038e4.jpg4b1445e14cbc7632ac429dd5b2dc991d.jpg

Looks like a good start. If you find it difficult to straighten the tubing I have a slightly used (100 ft) Maxline straightening tool I would be willing to part with.

Take this for what it's worth but I would ditch the regulator.

The only tools I regulate pressure on are my spray guns.

Mind posting a picture of what this straightening tool looks like? I have two rolls of Maxline sitting there mocking me in their tightly rolled up form.

I know some people have made their own using pipe plugs like this:

Made some progress today. None of my projects are complete without several trips to the hardware store. Turns out I should have bought a bigger kit, I ran out of line before completing the project. I forgot to calculate the drops in my line usage, so I bought another kit and turned my project into a loop. Now I ran out of clips, so another trip to the store in the morning. Here are some pics of the progress so far.

One of the pics shows the tubing straightener that I made. The straightener worked really well, but I still ended up putting twice as many clips as they recommended. 1051ae13b2d9ea9565c93480096779f8.jpgf062031dd1d19b3b37eed96e40f5bbcd.jpge5a11d411c84da07a98ebd15207a9a7d.jpgc8212ecc0a6faf2aeee5d0aedc18948c.jpgc06a746e31c7b489b8c9fc900d0ea030.jpg

sdwalter, can you share details on the pulleys you chose for the straightener? I have (2) 1/2" kits that I need to straighten and install in the next week or two.

TIA

I made my pulleys on a 3D printer. As long as the pipe sits in the pulley, you should be fine. Good luck.

Nice looking air system.

Great job making your own pulleys for the straightener.

Mike
Thanks. I ended up making a loop around the entire shop and put in 5 drops. Not sure you really need a straightener, but then again I put in twice as many clips.

Looks great, I bought the 100 foot 3/4" kit and I'll be installing it in a couple weeks. Any chance you'd rent out the straightener tool?
