Has anyone had experience with Maxus brand air compressors? Im in need of a small lightweight unit for trim/finish work around the house. I have a 24gal IR unit that I use for auto work, ect.

I was specifically looking at the Maxus X-Lite EX8017 model. Since I cant find the Maxus brand here in Canada I was looking at purchasing the RIDGID rebranded unit that home depot sells for $120cdn

I was also wondering if anyone could provide me with some info on what an induction motor is? I noticed that this unit uses one while other companies use universal motors, ect.

RIDGID rebrand (exact same unit)

Maxus is the commercial line of Campbell Hausfeld. Nice quality stuff. CH also makes the Husky and Ridgid line you find at HD. An induction motor is better for an air compressor. They tend to run quieter, cooler, and you never have to change the brushes. That is a sweet little compressor if it serves your needs. We sell those here where I work.
