Anyone familiar with this tool?

http://maxx-leverage.com/store live.htm

Eric The Car Guy did a recent tool review on it. I'm not sure the average mechanic or DYI would need the larger ones, but the 9" one seems like it could be handy not just for more breaking leverage on tough bolts, but also just to reach some automotive bolts where a breaker bar with a socket or a longer ratchet/socket may not fit, but a "lengthened flat box wrench" might?

Sure there are other ways to do it, impact, pipe, but this looks like an easy method that fits in your tool box ready when you may need it, and I thought the fact that you get the wrench length combined with the cheater bar length for leverage, and you can use it on almost any wrench with a handle, even a ratchet (recognizing you don't want to break the ratchet) with a flat handle, makes it pretty flexible.

What do you think? Anyone got one?

I would like to read the disclaimer tag they have tied to their product.

You can watch the 'Eric the car guy" video that is included in that link, under the "Videos" tab. It seems to work. I wonder how easy it is to "slip" and become a knuckle buster? Maybe it just locks up just fine? Eric wouldn't mislead us, would he?!

Jeez... a 36 inch long extension on a 1/2 inch wrench? That's hard to visualize.

Looks indeed like a tool that would damage wrenches.

Cheater pipe is a lot cheaper and more fail proof imo.

That looks like a gimmick. no thanks.

I have my own design that works a lot better than that... That just looks like a good way to break the jaws off.

That get's kinda scary if you pull on it... This is my own design. Couple different sizes works with my wrenches up to 1"

Some guys I work with have bars like that/ Same idea. They have them for big wrenches like 1"+. they work great. I'm gonna make one. For smaller stuff we just double wrench them

Seems a bit expensive/gimmicky. I just double wrench, hit with a rubber dead blow, hit it with a maul/sledge or use a cheater pipe.

Those bars Ruger has look pretty good.

Never had a problem double wrenching(when needed, as in nothing else will work) on bolts all the way up to just under 3". Keep enough tension on the wrench to get it set and it works every time.

Unless you were double wrenching on a daily basis I think this is a fairly useless tool, and if you are double wrenching on a daily basis you are probably doing so on bolts a hell of a lot bigger then 1"

I saw Eric's video. I like the idea for my truck box where a set of short combination wrenches could be made more versatile with the Maxx Leverage tool.

Well, I decided to break the bank and buy the small one. The finish and construction is pretty nice, despite clearly saying "Made in China" right on the tool.

Somewhat surprisingly, it works great! It is more secure, in my opinion than double wrenching. I'm not promoting the product at all... as there are other ways to get the job done that cost nothing or nearly nothing.

But, I suspect now that I have it, I'll use it.... especially in a narrow, tight spot that a socket and ratchet may not fit, and I need the extra length.
