Maybe a dumb question :)

I'm insulating and installing interior walls in my pole barn. I'm new to the area and don't really know anyone out here, so all of the work is being performed solo. I finished adding studs (2' centers) for wall insulation. I was thinking about how I'm going to do the ceiling. 15' high, joists on 4' centers. My original thought is to use the 2' wide corrugated steel and pay someone to put in blow in insulation. I guess I'd have to find a drywall lift that'll go that high. If I use bat style insulation by adding 2' centers, could I use the 1/2" foam board for the ceiling? The one side on the stuff I used in the walls is all white on one side. I don't plan on attaching anything to the ceiling that wouldn't bolt to a joist. Thoughts? I was just thinking those 4x8 sheets would be a lot easier to install myself.

I think that your original plan is the best plan - metal panels followed by blown-in insulation.

I believe there are two potential issues with using 1/2" foam board: 1. The foam will likely support and propagate combustion. 2. I don't think they will span that distance without sagging

And make sure joints are sealed. It is amazing how hard that layer of warm air next to ceiling works to make its way into attic drawing cold air through siding gaps.

i dont like metal panels in shops due to the echo, its loud

Most of the cheap drywall lifts will go 11ft stock, and you can get 4ft or 6ft extensions that are fairly universal between all the cheap lifts.
