...maybe another garage from Norway?

My tiny 20x20 garage/workshop

Moving into our new house tomorrow. Been looking forward to this moment for quite some weeks now since we signed the contract

Have been constantly looking for a small farm for several years, but there has been zero objects in our area. This is as close as we could get. See picture in the lower right corner - thats our nearest neighbour.

There are two garages on the property already, one is a single garage (on the left), and the other is a double. Plan is to at least double the size of the double. Nothing fancy, but it will be able to house some of our projects - cars & bikes (I also rent some space in a barn nearby for storage - so i dont need to house ALL of our projects).

The single garage will most probably be rebuild to house my kids' animals... a few chickens, a little pig, rabbits...yeah.. you know.

I`ll post more pics later. Now its time to spend some time moving in, then... in a few weeks... make drawings for the new garage.

Btw; i have cheated a little bit already regarding "drawing"...i hope to make the new garage something like this (although a little bit longer, but the program i used had limitations):

As i need to heat it up in the winter, im thinking of making the far right side (one door only) separated from the rest. Thats where the wife can park

Slowly progressing... but got all the needed papers now, and have made up a drawing.
Size is limited to what i can do myself without hiring a pro to be responsible, and also to keep the costs down.
Wife can park on the left side (open carport), and the rest is for me

Made the deal of the year on these tools...not sure if im allowed the tell how much..haha..

With this i also got a huge lot of handtools, and parts for the machines. Also around 50 kilos of brass. Lots of aluminium... etc etc.
This will be a great addition to my other tools, and the new garage.

Precut... how many days to build? Guess you`ll be rolling your car in within a week or so
Im going to do everything myself, done most of this kind of build before, not a big deal really, just need a little help from friends/familiy when building the roof.

I'm putting it togheter myself, the materials ar just cut to the right lengths, doing the slab myself also, so it will take me sometime.

Im kind of knocked down....
My plan to do a kind of cheap expansion of the garage has fell apart. Political rules, and since the property is old, forces me into a load of paperworks and costs that i cant afford right now.
So a new plan is worked out! I`ll keep my rented place for storage only, and offer a few spots to a couple of friends to keep cost down.
Then stick with my two car garage, but rebuild to a "one car", fully insulated shop. Car on one side, and space for all my tools, benches etc on the other side.
Started on the workshop-side yesterday.. Need to get things done quickly to be able to re-arange everything over the summer. Also got so much parts and tools that needs to moved here and there all the time while building to keep some free space when doing this.
I plan to build the inner part of the shopwalls first to be able to put up a workbench and some space to store/move my tools in there.

The pictured space will house tools, welding table, benches, shelfs etc. Will put effort into making everything real organized - it will just look like chaos for a while!
The other side will be exactly the same size (6x3 m). Its gonna be a bit tight, but since i only work on small cars and motorcycles, it will do fine as long as i only work on (house) one car at the time
The projects im working on now includes a Fiat 600 and a Ford Thames.

Yes, that would be great, but the single is placed much lower in the terrain, and its not accesible with a car (unless driving a 4x4). Previous owners probably built it as a "shed".

Found some for cheap, but found out that the accessories for it costs 5-times more than the panles itself. So i want to check for prices in UK or USA, but i dont know what im looking for.. :|

Some people love Pegboard. Others, like me, loath the stuff. We can get it in 4' x 8' Masonite sheets. I think there are two different size holes and different size accessories. The grid here is 1" on center. I don't know about Europe.

Looks good, what did you use for the benchtop?

Its plywood. Not sure if its the best choice, but looks good so far. I plan to put a steel plate on top of one of the benches later.

Im about to finish bench nr two, and i have even finished a little bit more walls.

Got my flypresses in place. Need to bolt 'em up and adjust a little bit.

Looking good. Obviously, one press is setup for bending, what about the other two? Nice wheels, tires and axle for the Thames. What is going under the hood? Thanks for sharing your stuff!

The other two is setup for punching holes (got plenty of sizes with it) and squares. Im looking around to see if i can find other ways to use them also.
