Just ordered this 42" pry bar for an upcoming project. It seemed reasonably priced. I have a set of sunex pry bars 8,12,18 and 24". Hopefully the 42 fills the role of a larger pry bar without being too large. How is Mayhew as a brand? I paid 70$ for it.

I debated the 36 and 42. I went with the 42 but I'm hoping it's not too large.

I've been trying to differentiate - the 42" has a 36" shank (and a 6" handle). I believe the 36 is also a 36" shank. So they'd be the same one. True or false? If false, what's the shank length on the 36"? I'm comparing same tips (curved and curved).

I got the 42 for exactly what you said. I figured the handle would be 6" and I wanted 36" of bar. How's the 36" a 36" shank of it has a handle? Lol

I've seen the bars listed both ways (is what I'm really saying) - either by total length or by shank length. I'm saying that because of this the 36" is the 42" but since I can't find a listing that actually says what the 36" measurement is, I don't know for sure...thus the question - who has a 36 and what's the shank length?

I really want a 36" total length or 30" shank with a 6" handle. Have a specific use where the 42" would be a no-go but sub 38 would work.

Okay, I take it back. I found a listing on Amazon where you can by a 36" AND a 42" and get a second of each free (good deal it seems if you've got a buddy).

And from their product catalog they're listed as OAL 36 and 42

Maybe for the 24" and shorter they number them by shank length instead of OAL.

Who knows?
I'm down for that buy two get two deal if anyone wants to do it.

I have no problem being the purchaser if anyone is interested. $56.50 for both bars together seems like a pretty good deal IMO.

Let me get this straight this is a buy to get two free, Or buy two get two bars or a total of two. The wording does not seem right. Tell me which on?

You buy a 36 and a 42 and you get a 36 and a 42.

Net will be 4 total pry bars - qty 2 @ 36-inches and qty 2 @ 42-inches.

Comments above are surrounding 2 people splitting an order and each of the two people end up paying half of the advertised price for 2 bars each - one of each length.

Yes I agree, the price is cheap enough it's a damn good deal.

Mine will be here today. I'll see how close it is to what I had in mind. I believe the one o consistently use at work is a matco. It has a really fat rubber handle.

It doesn't have as fat of a handle as I was hoping, but it's a very stout bar and the handle is comfortable. Definitely worth the money.

Maybe the bar itself, but the handle is different. The Matco one I have at work is like 3x as thick.
