:bowdown:Craftsman punches are made by them too

Mayhew might have something to do with making there punches but those cheap Craftsman sets have nothing in common visually or quality wise. Most of your quality punches are beveled at the striking end http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00910318000P?keyword=mayhew+pin+punch+set You can zoom in on that link, Here is the Craftsman 10 dollar set http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00904285000P?keyword=craftsman+punches You can zoom in there also. Im not saying Mayhew doesnt make punches for other companies but im sure as in every other contract there are quality differences between them.

I just sent them this via the contact page. Maybe this will help, who knows.

I have some of your tools, planned on buying more. So far I love them. I belong to this online forum, garagejournal.com. One of our members, a full time mechanic, is having trouble with a punch. You should read over this thread. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44716
We love our American made tools. However we will not buy them if the company does not stand behind them. Please take care of Krusty. He is a good guy.

it was a punch.

these are the same punches mac and matco sells and they are lifetime warranty. you can consider them disposable if you wish but that doesn't change the fact that the have a warranty and mayhew has refused to answer how to get it replaced.

I think you have received terrible service. pm sent

This *****.. I remember I emailed them before asking about the origin of some of their tools, and I got a straight up answer.

Why not ask a Matco or Cornwell dealer to warranity it ?

I just checked my email and received this from Mayhew.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the email.
I have read the complete blog from the garage journal and I have to say I am quite disappointed by the remarks.

First of all, I check the website emails every day and I have not seen a single email from this gentleman. I'm not sure what address he is mailing to.

Had I gotten an email regarding a broken punch, I would immediately responded and told him whether or not this was a warranted item and how to go about getting a replacement.

It sounds as though he is an end user in which case he would have to take the punch back to where he purchased it for a replacement, that company would give him a new one and then deal with Mayhew directly.

I also advise all customers that if they run into ANY problems with their retailer, to let me know immediately and we will resolve the issue ourselves.

We at Mayhew Tools pride ourselves on our customer service and always try to go above and beyond to please our customers.

If I had the email address for "Krusty", I would have responded to him directly.

Again, thank you for the alert and if you would like to pass on my direct email to Krusty, I will be happy to assist him.

Best Regards,

I like how he passes the buck back to the original vendor. He should have just left that part out and offered to fully take care of the problem. I hope krusty gets taken care of but it a piss poor route to have to take.

I missed this one on my first post. They sent this the same day.

Hi Gary,

It's me again.

Your email has been weighing heavy on me which prompted me to look into how we could have missed customer emails.
I went to our IT department and found out that we have an outside party that manages our website and server and they constantly update for viruses, spam, etc. Back in early fall we had a new filter added for spam (we get lots of spam) and certain words trigger it and automatically dump them in a spam folder.
I check that folder often and try to sift out the non-spam emails but, there are hundreds of them and occasionally I miss some. This may be the case with "Krusty's" emails.

I tried to contact him directly but, I was unable to get on the garage journal.

If you have his email address or if you can let him know via the garage journal site, I would like to extend our apologies to him. We take this very seriously as our customers are extremely important to us.

Again, thank you for passing this on.

Best Regards,

Deb Selicious

well that may explain the two email's but not the voicemails that were unanswered (and that is weighing heavy on my mind).

i sent her an email so she now has my email address.

i also told her that she may be dissapointed with a few comments here, but not as dissapointed as i am over this.and that returning them to the dealer i purchased them from is not an option since it was an online purchase. we'll see what she has to say.

Returning to the place of purchase for warranty can always be an issue. Some places just go up and out of business, others, that EVEN though they sell the item (in some cases that says ON IT, return to point of purchase), say they are NOT the warranty place.

Thanks for the follow-up Krusty! I've been debating a prybar purchase and this helps knowing that Mayhew will ultimately take care of their customers.

Good on Mayhew for taking care of Krusty, finally. I was a little nervous wen I first saw this thread, as I own a few of their tools (dominator pick set, and a 44" prybar - I love them both). After hearing they stepped up to the plate, I would also recommend them as a quality tool brand.

I don't own any Mayhew stuff that I know of, unless it is rebranded, but I will get some after this great support. Always nice to see someone want to make things right, and the best part is they are in the USA.

I wouldn't call 4 months great support.
