Does anyone here know anything about MBC Dominator boxes? I came across one of these today and am a bit interested in it. It looks to be a solidly built box and I recall reading that MBC built Snap On or Mac boxes, but that doesn't necessarily translate into much regarding this box. Does anyone know what this could be or what it could be worth?

Photo is post below.

Thank you for your help!

Nice box; condition looks very good for the age assuming, 50 years old. I’ve got an MBC middle and top box and are every bit as solid as equivalent vintage SO.

I have a ‘60’s vintage MBC top chest and rollcab, was my stepdads fathers. AWESOME! Was told by a long time “Snappy” dealer - Metal Box Corp. (MBC) built Snap-On boxes until Snap-On bought them out and put their logo on them. Not sure if that’s true, but they’re one helluva box.

Boy, what's not to like? Curious on the width. They made boxes for Snap On so expect quality. Looks like a **** ton of storage space.
It is 24 deep, 41 wide, and 38 tall. If all goes well, I should be able to pick it up next week.

Thank you for letting me know. I'm eager to get this one. My old rolla bench is okay, but I think this one will be better suited for my purposes. Hopefully it rolls nicely and can serve as a nice mobile project bench around the garage.

You should be real happy with it. The drawer slides are pretty heavy duty, when cleaned and lubed work fantastic (pet peeve of mine). Wheels where - meeeh when I got it, changed them out. Pappy was a truck mechanic for Mack Trucks, had some heavy tools in it for many, many years, rolling over **** floors. Good luck with it and enjoy!!

The drawers don’t push in all the way. They probably stay open about 1/4 of an inch or so. Is there a way to figure out why al of the drawers have the same issue without taking it entirely apart?

Hey RG,

At a guess?

There is a locking bar in the rear of the box.

It is most likely "frozen"...(rust, paint, bent...old age...etc)

Best bet?

Remove drawers. Address the locking bar "issue" .

Clean & lube drawer slides...whilst out...

Later, Mark

It doesn't seem like there is a locking bar, just a lock on the top drawer. However, it doesn't appear to engage anything else. The previous owner welded a washer to the top to have a bar slide down to keep everything in place.
