Hey there folks, newbie to the group. I am looking to restore a cabinet (MBC C-3S 74 1339) and a chest (SO KRA53) that were my fathers. Structurally the cabinet is in good condition, but the drawer slides are messed up. The channels are ok, but all of the H channels (runners?) are in bad shape. Not a straight one in the 3 drawer setup. My problem however is finding replacements. I used the SO drawer removal tools to take them out, and I am pretty sure they are the same as SO runners of the era, but cannot find a SO box to reference when talking to SO about options. They are just under 16" long and about 3/4" high. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

I will post pictures soon. Reading all of these restoration projects has inspired me. I will be going to powdercoating route because me and a quality paint job have never gone hand in hand.

Hi there,
nice to see good q stuff being restored! Keep it up!
If you can not find the H-channel in original measurements, please do not modify the cabinet to make new stuff fit.
A good sheet metal fabricator can easily make you new ones. Make two halves and use a spot welder to join them. Make sure that the fabricator finds the same thickness of material for the job.

Best of luck!
