I've seen pics of these. You squeeze the handle like pliers and the jaws open inside th piston so you can work the piston out. Any body know where I can get a set, or something else that does the job? The only ones I've seen are ebay, and all in the UK. They gotta be available here somewhere.
Any ideas, before I have to go the UK route?

Thanks

Why don"t you just blow compressed air into the caliper...shoots the piston out pretty easily...just drain all the brake fluid first. That what I've always done..

I've always used the compressor method myself, although I seldom do. Rebuild kits for calipers are tough to get here. It's generally cheaper to just replace the unit with a rebuilt from the store.

$28 for seal kit for both front calipers. I've never had trouble finding kits, I'm in Ontario, got to be similar to K-Bec I'd think?

I was able to find only one place that could supply for my Dodge colt,at $70. Replacing the caliper (one side) was only $120. Similarly, the missus' 2005 Malibu...only napa carries the rotors at $70 a corner. Even Canadian Tire says they've got nothing. Go south of the border, everyone's got them in stock, $35 a corner. K'bec is just a lousy place for do it yourselfers.

AHA, I'm talking motorcycles, different ball of wax, a single caliper is over $300, versus the 28 for 2 kits. I imagine cars are about the same here as there.

Pad the piston with rags or a piece of wood if you are going to used the air method. You can blow that piston across the shop at a high rate of speed if it isn't contained.
