I'm building a 24x24 post frame garage in N.E. ohio and I need to buy posts. I have the holes dug and footers poured, the posts will sit on the footers and be backfilled with dirt. What is the best treated lumber for this application? I can't use multiple 2x6s it must be either 6x6 or 4x6 per code. I plan on using 6x6 because its not a much higher cost verses a 4x6. I have read that cca treated is best but is banned for residential structures so what posts should I use?
Mca ca or AC2 treated for post frame?
