I've been enjoying the garage build threads in this forum for several years. After many years I am now retired and finally have the time and funds to build a basic shop/garage. My building crew, myself and an older friend are slow, but are making progress.

It's 30' x 40', with 16' x 10' and 10' x 10' doors. 12' 6" ceiling clearance so that I can install a 2 post lift. I'm too old to lay down and work on things. It gets too hard to get back up.

Below are some pics. The construction supervisor in shown in the last pic. LOL

I'll keep updating as we slowly progress.

Hope to get the roof trusses up on Monday.

Welcome, and thanks for bringing us into your build. That supervisor of yours doesn't look like he's gonna miss a thing.

That shop/garage is coming along nicely; keep up the good work! Is your supervisor retired also? Don't let him give you two old farts any horse$hit about your work progress. lol

In what part of the world are you located? Please consider providing some information in your profile. Good luck with your build and pay attention to your construction supervisor.

Is it just me, or is the super giving a "these guys don't know what they're doing" look??

I have a 3/4 ton dodge pickup, an 85 S10 with a 475 Hp 383 small block chevy and Ford 9" Rear with 4 link and 4:10 gears that I occasionally drag race. I used to drive it on the street, but at 9 MPG I can't justify that any more. Maybe will swap the TH 350 Trans for an OD automatic. Also my Massey Ferguson Tractor and a few lawn tractors.

My wife has a PT Cruiser that she likes and I hate. Daughter has a Ford Edge and son has a Jeep Liberty.

I am the maintenance worker for all this stuff. Can't wait to get the floor poured and cured for a few weeks then I can put the two post lift in.

It haled here very hard three times today and rain showers also. Didn't get photos or much done on the garage.

Hired a couple young guys to install the metal roofing. They were really fast and did a good job. 6 hours and they were done.

There's a gap in the blocks (does that count as a stem wall) that is too short for a horsey door. Is it for utilities or the PT?
