I have a Proflo PF74VBKIT that I replaced a year or two ago and the o-ring broke. I measured roughly .075” with the calipers for the thickness of the o-ring and .75” for the internal diameter. Instead of getting another vacuum breaker replacement kit, how would I go about getting a set of replacement o-rings? The first kit was installed after about 10 years and this o-ring only lasted through two seasons. Can I order a direct size, or do I need to get a o-ring kit? Not sure how much to risk with shipping fees hitting the right size. Can I manage a replacement through a box store?

if you have an industrial supplier in your area they could help you... but they often won't deal with consumers & small piddly *** orders .
and it's probably cheaper to get an oring kit from Harbor freight , or online . . you'll probably have about 10 of the right size in the kit , and, you'll probably find other repairs that you can do now that you have various sizes.

So far, the closest sizes that I have found are AS568A-018 and a Danco #14 o-ring. Apparently the Ace website shows individual o-rings for sale, but not at my closest store.

The size chart for AS568A-018 shows 0.070" for the cross section which is pretty close to my caliper measurement of 0.075". The Danco #14 shows 3/32", but I wouldn't think the cross section would make much of a difference for a simple garden hose vacuum breaker seal.

Zoro seems to have bulk packs of 25, 50, and 100 using the AS568 sizes with differing materials (e.g. search for "o-ring dash 018"). I see Viton, Nitrile, Buna-N, EPDM, Neoprene, Silicone, etc. Is there a recommended material for water applications like outdoor garden faucet, where the temperatures can get a little cold. Trying to get better educated.

Yes, actually I'm on my 3rd faucet repair kit since owning the house and the only thing that keeping breaking is the o-ring .

I have a o-ring kit incoming.
