While I do a lot of reading in this forum, I'd like to know what are your favorite tool forums?
Mostly interested in mechanics hand tools, not so much power equipment.

this one for sure, hands down, but there are other forums not related to tools, but the stuff you might work on like cars, trucks, heavy equipment, and metal working

Have searched a little, but was thinking my google fu was bad.

I was guessing that the Snapon guys and the like would have forums going.

I suppose the HAMB connection and Garage Journel itself leads everyone here.

Depends how you mention it. Mentioning it in this thread wouldn't be a problem(I would hope not), but the relationship between the 2 sites is not the greatest. I joined just as the last of the flak was spewing out. It seemed that the older members thought the board was changing and did not like it, so they were, IMO, asked pretty nicely to leave. Many older members were acting immature, and those who were destroying the forums were sent away for a lack of better words.

Chad S left for a similar reason, but he was not banned. He nor the others were forced to be here, so he was mature abut it, felt he did not like the general vibe, and left. Have I mentioned that I miss chad posting yet?

destroying the forums? who? acting immaturely? not exactly a trait that is confined to the older members. asked nicely to leave? interesting way to describe banning. bull and wrenchr seem to frequent at least one of these sights on a regular basis. lots of inconsistency in this version of the story. oh yes, chad is happily posting away there.

Politics dont' interest me, but I'm still confused on the rules. I like to check out other sites, but google is good enough for that. Just seemed like lots of guys choosing their words very carefully.

Funny, Stewie at Toolguyd just posted a link to a list of tool blogs. These are blogs, not forums.

Here's the list he linked:
http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/2011/03/ultimate-tool-blog-websites/
http://www.toolsnob.com – Real interesting finds , I have no idea where he finds this stuff, but its great and informative.

http://www.toolguyd.com – Great posts on tools, news and even great deals on tools, updated frequently. Toolguyd knows tools.

http://www.toolstop.co.uk – The boys across the pond, they have a great podcast and very nicely done videos.

http://www.tool-rank.com – We love the layout of Tool-Rank, they have great articles and news.

http://www.toolsinaction.com – That’s us

http://www.protoolreviews.com – The pro tool guys must have a secret underground lab somewhere, they do the most in depth tool reviews on the planet!

http://www.coptool.com – The unofficial blog and news site for Ohio Power Tool, a great news source.

http://www.toolboxbuzz.com – Another good tool blog.

http://www.toolmonger.com – The Obi-Wan Kenobi of tool blogs, the webs first tool blog.

http://thewoodwhisperer.com – **** for carpenters.

http://homefixated.com/ – DIY projects and more.

http://www.toollaunch.com – The latest tool news.

http://www.mikeroweworks.com – Mike Rowe is the only reason I bought a Ford ecoboost f150 and I love it.

They who must not be named can not be named here for being named would make you a namer.

No one wants to be a namer. Hi merk:lol_hitti

I too would like to see more tool forums out there. I visit multiple forums for each of my hobbies, but the tool forum landscape is pretty barren.

As for "That Other Place That Must Not Be Named", I like that board too and there are some nice folks over there (a lot of the same folks that are on here BTW) but there is just not nearly as much activity, so after checking in over there every day or so, I usually end up back here.

Anyone want to pm me this other nameless site that we speak of?

Do you like your peanut butter crunchy or smooth? IE with or without nuts? IMO both taste excellent. Taste them for yourself. They each have their own niche.

I think this forum is mostly about mechanics tools, ecxept for the occasionl threads on stuff like chainsaws, woodworking tools, etc. I also don't get the fountian pen thread on here, even though I once collected them in another life.
