media blast gun recommendation

Hello,

I am researching media blast guns. Some time ago, I read that there was a particular gun that seemed to be liked by most users for its performance. I can't seen to find a reference for it anywhere. Maybe it has been eclipsed by another model/brand.

I'd like to know if anyone has recommendations for a blast gun (gun only, not whole setup), based on first-hand experience.

I am using angled quartz (abandoning this for its health risk) and ceramic blast material at 400lt/min (14 c.f.m), venturi feed.

a lot of posts i have read people refer to the TP Tools Guns, they make great cabinets and all the accessories and parts you could want, including build your own kits

I basically have the Hobby Pro Gun in my Eastwood and no issues, been happy with it, even bought extra nozzles for future use.

is what I see recommended a lot, and is what I bought to upgrade my cabinet more than a year ago.

I bought spare nozzles at the time as well to have on hand... in a years time (only used a few times each month, as I use a Soda Blaster a lot as well) I have gone though one nozzle, and I let it go longer then I should have...

x2 on the TPTools.com Gun Upgrade Kit! Get some carbide nozzles too -- they last a lot longer than the ceramic ones.

I tried many of the guns on the market and found that an old champion sparkplug with the internals removed makes a great blasting "gun". Old ones are free and you only need an on/off valve close to the outlet side of the hose. Works great.
