I’m building a two level garage and want to have internet, security cameras, etc.

I am looking at installing a media distribution box and would really appreciate any ideas or tips. I’ve attached a few photos of what I am thinking about.

The tract builders put those in the master closet and try to up sell a $5000 system on new houses. Like the natural gas/propane distribution panels, I don't think they sell well.

It's great for a really super simple setup, but IMO, you're better off just putting up a shelf, D rings with the RG/Data Cables, etc and just mount them up traditionally on a 19" for the terminations, etc.

I've looked at these as well. They seem a little pricey.

At my old house I just put up a pieces of 3/4" plywood, ran some electrical, and mounted everything to that. It worked pretty well. It was in the basement, so no one really saw it.

same for me , but I do have a similar media box... found it useless , unless I buy into their "modules" for additional cost... and it never fit right with other things... so I just took off all the shelving inside and double side tape a 24 port switch in there.... and a power strip, that is about what I can fit. Hind sight, I would have just use some 3/4 plywood... and a furring strip since it is inside a utility room.
