Media Tumbler

Anyone ever use a media tumbler to clean off the rust from sockets? I just purchased a large lot of tools and there's a bunch of rust on the sockets. Need some advice. What about electrolysis?

unless you already have a media tumbler..

i've tried it a couple times, with mixed results. the media i used wasnt the good choice for rust removal, but it makes brass shine like new.

electrolisis
evaporust
vinegar

all produce satisfactory results

Having never tried it, is electrolysis hard on chrome, especially if there are any edges from flaking?

theres a couple of electrolysis threads, might want to check them out.

i've used evaporust a couple times and vinegar in the past.

my tools dont get rusty.

Just use them as is. Rust, while it might look ugly, is a protective coating in and of itself.
