Medical 'E' tanks -- in uses

I ended up with a dozen medical oxygen E tanks. These are steel and out of date on hydro. I also have the carts and constant flow regs. Any market or uses for them?

Make a set of wind chimes out of them

Not really if they are out of spec. Even in spec they are kind of small for most uses I could think of. Maybe for some welding projects after they're devalved and tops and bottoms cut off.

The wind chime idea sounds cool. I've actually wanted to build one out of six foot long aluminum tubes like one I saw on a motorcycle ride in the country. It sounded really cool. More of a gong than a chime. I haven't found the materials yet though.

Don't know how big they are but could they be re certified ? if so they may be useful to airgunners. We have a couple of different bottles for re-filling pcp rifles. I think our smallest is 3ltr and 232bar certified. Ours need to be hydro tested every 5 years I think it is so that the dive shops will fill them for us.

These would be pretty heavy for that use. Interesting though, a 2 foot steel cylinder on a cart full of WD 40 or kerosene, some kind of spray wand extension.

I need a constant flow regulator. Wife is on O2 full time and I'd like to mount a tank on her ATV but it's too much work for her to switch the regulators around every time.

Can you shoot me a pic? How much you want for one?

Put them on ebay, China will buy them, put fake recertification on them, and sell them to someone who desperately needs it.

Plumb them as extra air storage for your compressor. Hide them in all the little nooks and crannies that are no good for anything else.

X2 on the wind chimes. I've wanted to make a set for a while. My dad made a few sets last Christmas out of polished 3/4" EMT. He told me it's surprising what is involved with tuning the individual chimes so they ring "clean". i already knew length determines pitch, diameter and wall thickness determines tone. What I didn't even think of is where you suspend the chimes also affects the sound.

As someone who HATES wind chimes, don't do that. Small chimes that don't make much noise are okay, big giant ones the neighbors will be able to hear banging away all night while they're trying to sleep aren't.
