Hey Guys,

Inquiring about our medical office where rooms currently have VCT (?) tiles that need to be buffed/waxed every so often.

We pay anywhere from $3000-$4000 a year on maintenence give and take not to mention finding the people who would wax/buff them

There are about 14-15 exam rooms and each room is roughly 70 -80 sq-ft totalling approx 1200-1300 sq-ft total

Would porscelien be a good choice for an office setting?

What are some of the other options where we don't have to keep up witht he maintenence?

Any reason why most if not all medical offices have these VCT tiles?

Thanks

IMO, VCT tiles are used because they're cheap, easily replaceable, and you can clean liquid spills fairly easily :puke:

Hate to keep repeating but epoxy/urethane will last quite some time, is easily cleanable, and bodily fluids won't hurt it.

The majority of med offices are leases and the tenant improvement costs are therefore kept intentionally low. There is no long term benefit to have higher grade flooring as it is often replaced at the end of the lease or on renewal.

Did a plastic surgeons office years back they used welded vinyl wrapped up the walls,
Most on the dental offices we do all use just ceramic.
