Not sure what it is recently with the round welding tables but there are two local to me right now. The big one claims its 1" thick. I'd really like to own one but don't have the awkward room nor the $400 price on the 1"er:shocking:
One of you deep pockets around here should scoop them up:pimpflash

The steamfitter down the street has a round welding table. I asked why round? "Free steel from an old round boiler plate".

Same guy had nice stainless steel work bench tops made from elevator doors that were replaced.

We have a couple round ones at work because the round chunk of 1" plate was leftover from a foundation we built. I don't see any benefits to round vs. square. Seems square is easier to work w/ because you have a square edge to work from.

I guarantee those round tables are drops from a much larger project. There is probably a company near you cutting lots of round circles in thick plate and a few guys scooped up the leftovers.

I wouldnt want a round table for the obvious reasons of lost real estate and no straight edge to work from

Mine....just roll it out as needed. It was a freebie, found between some buildings where I worked. Suspect it somehow fell off a scrapper's truck.
