I purchased a compressor head from member jonjon1 on here around the first of the year. He received the check and cashed it.

I then sent him shipping labels to use for sending the compressor head. He received these as well.

I have now not heard from him for a couple of months, and no money or compressor head has shown up. He shows as inactive on this site since February.

Does anyone know jonjon1 in person by chance? I would really like to get my money back at this point.

Where was he/she from ? Maybe something bad happened. I would hope none of the member's on here would willingly screw another over.

That would be much appreciated if a member would be willing to do that. I am not sure if there is a problem, or if I am being ignored. I am suspecting the latter. My last text from him was on 4/4/16.

I nearly drove out to a remote oil rig to get a member on a different forum to pay back money he owed another member. He basically said that he was impossible to find. Unfortunately for him he was on a rig location I worked on a week or so prior. As soon as I told him I knew exactly where he was and what rig he was on, he came up with the money real quick. Interesting how that worked, eh? Face to face takes the anonymity of the internet away real quick and seems to get results. I hope I am not getting screwed like that, but it sure is starting to feel that way.

If a visit results in getting my $500 back (or part of it), I would be willing to give a third of the money recovered to the person who recovers it, or donate that third to a charity of their choosing. Let's see what we can do. Thanks.

Good thought there. I've actually gotten quite a bit accomplished by having an attorney write a letter. None in my family, but it's generally cost me around $75-$150. Even if it really doesn't carry any weight, it can often convince another party to see things a little differently.

I believe I have found the company that the guy owns. His business is listed in Rhode Island, and I found several hits using a combination of his name, number, and business name(s).

I'm not sure what other Mod Simon has been in touch with but after looking at his account, his email sounds familiar and I wonder if he had caused issues and got banned ?

He also had a classified ad which I deleted so no other members will try to buy from him.
