I KNOW I see and probably used these before I got three in a Larsen bin box, and I know its for holding something down, the hook catches an edge, and the bent part applies direct pressure and the screw (just one that was handy, probably not the real deal) applies the pressure.

But For the life of me I cannot rememger what it is used for specifically, and its bugging me to death! :willy_nil

This should be the easy one, I got another harder one coming...

That is too small for an under-sink clip. It would be longer for that purpose. This is a screen door clip. The screw would have a knurled top.

It reminds me of a clip I used to see holding a camper top down on a pickup truck

That's made to stop an aluminum window or sliding door from opening. If someone should defeat the locking mechanism they still wouldn't be able to open it because this little device is clamped onto the door/window tracks at the top r bottom or both. People use them mostly on windows to allow it to be opened enough for ventilation but not so far as to allow a person entry.

No, it's definitely not for window security. Here is one of those next to the original clip I posted (and George for scale, sorry I forgot that the first time)

The link Exceller8 posted sure looks right, but dang, I'm not sure I'd trust a sink to a clip or even several of them that ****** small! :dunno:

Half of a memory retainer. A long thing with a head like a roofing nail goes in one ear and out the other, capturing the stuff you are about to forget, and the clip tightens on the protruding end. I need one but forget which catalog it's in.
