Has anyone seen memory foam for a drawer liner?

If you could buy the stuff in inch thick sheets, preferably black, it would seem to be ideal. The tools would slowly sink in, form pockets, and not slide around.

Won't work.
The density of the memory foam I have seen wouldn't let the tools sink in very well or not at all. Memory foam isn't as durable as regular liners, it's very easy to tear.
Also if you put in 1" thick foam then you lose that in drawer height. Wouldn't work well in 2" drawers especially since the tools won't sink in.

The only thing I have seen work is what we have to do with our work toolboxes. 1/2" foam and cut out for the shape of everything.

Wastes a lot of space but in the end if that saves a couple million $$ jet engine, it's worth it.

I'd need 2 or 3 more big boxes at home if I did that though!

memory foam works with heat. it's your body temperature that helps it conform. unless you preheat your tools i doubt it would work.

Don't give snap-on any ideas. $300 sheets of memory foam and a $500 side-mount microwave that you use before storing your tools.

Ha!
