Menards is offering a 11% rebate on gift cards until January 4 2014. I am thinking of getting a $572 gift card (Receiving a $63 rebate) and then buying a Masterforce 46 inch bottom tool chest for $539 (Receiving a $59.29 rebate), net for the tool chest around $425. I would like to know your thoughts about double dipping on the rebates. :headscrat

I say hell yeah! John Menard was known as "Taiwan Jon" in his home town of Eau Claire Wisconsin. He was a pioneer in importing from third world countries. He's got some strange business practices that preclude a hardworking middle aged person from working there. You don't see many 45 year old people working there, not even in management.

Bottom line, if he's going to allow 22% off of anything in the store, take it.

Incidentally, I just a bought a black 46" Master Force and love it. I got it for $836.00 on sale. My only complaint is that I wish the drawers were different widths so that there was a wide and narrow drawer as opposed to two approximately 21" drawers.

Sounds like a good plan to me!

I was hoping I could use the $260 rebate check I have sitting here to buy a gift card and make 11% on it, but apparently I can't do that...

I'm heading to Menards today. I don't really need anything but I'm sure I'll find something that I didn't know I wanted.

I think Menards Gift Cards are the only things that Menards Rebates aren't good for.

That being said, if you don't mind waiting for the rebate to spend there on future purchases, I say take advantage of the system as much as you can.

This is pretty nice, I was eyeballing a few larger items $250+ that already had a rebate, If I buy the GC with my menards card will the CC rebate still apply? So buy GC with CC, net 2%+11%+11%+whatever rebates?? Im awiating that rebate check for the CC.

what about buying a gift card (get rebate), then using the giftcard to buy another giftcard (another rebate) then another giftcard... and the cycle continues...

think that would work? if one had cash and could wait on the rebates (and enough different addresses to send the rebates to he could potentially furnish his garage for free lol

... i dont plan to try this so no replies from the moral police are needed... im just wondering if anyone thinks it would work

Check the fine print to see how many rebates each household can get. I don't know about the 11% kind, but on regular items, Menard's tends to cap it at two per address. My girlfriend's parents are always using our address to get multiples of the free dish soap/gloves/tool shop brand tools.

Did it today. Spent $200 and have $44 coming back my way instead of $22. Got some much needed things for the house, as well as a Leatherman and a new corded Drill.

The 11% rebates are unlimited.

Confirmed on Saturday that using a previous rebate certificate (from late Oct / early Nov promo) still earns you a rebate on purchases during this promo.

Bought $2000 of lumber for shop...used my cash back credit card to buy gift card then used gift card to buy lumber...(1% +11%+11%) total 23% off....will use rebate of $440 to buy Sheetrock. Prices at HD and Lowes were same as Menard's before rebates. Good deal.
