Walked right in and bought the Channellock set at 10:30. Everyone was fawning over the cheap Performax tool sets.

Haha. The only thing in our tool section anyone was excited for was the $30 Stanley tool set. The kid working there was talking about how happy he was that there'd probably be one left for him to buy after work. People love bad Chinese tools.

Went to our Menards @ 6. Saw a line in front, didn't realize it disappeared into the dark, down the side of the store to the guard shack, across the back gates and back up along the side of the driveway.
Said forget it, came back at 10:15, walked right in, got everything we were after except work gloves. Stood in the checkout line for about 10 minutes and right out the door.

I made the mistake of going to Menards at 11am to see if there was anything left over. The lines were insane, you'd think they were giving stuff away the way people were packed in there.

Menards is usually a flustercuck on a normal busy day because the of the exit barricades, but today was unbelieveable. I didn't even see if there was anything left. I'd still be standing in line if a found something. Never again.

Every other store I visited was fine.

From what I'm told the local Menards was a mad house, I went to Home Depot down the street to pick up a couple non-sale items, didn't pick up any Black Friday stuff. Went by Menards a little after noon on my way home, lots of people but not to bad, picked up a few of the Channellock sets for $9.99, everything else was Asian junk.

Anyhow if you're near a Menards, even though the Channellock deal ended at noon they were still giving the $9.99 deal so it might be worth the trip now that hopefully the crowds are gone.

I went in at 1130 to get the channel lock deal. They had about 50 sets left and there was no line to checkout. I was in and out in under 5 minutes.

The tools were all in the Millwork department, and no one wanted any of them. I could have bought 200 of the Channellock sets if I'd wanted. My hardware store was full of people buying...toys. I'm so confused.

:willy_nil I agree, I thought I made a wrong turn and was at Walmart. Next year-Sleep in, arrive at 9 am, avoid crazy crowd, get "Needed" tools

Hey Little Bit of a Wolf (get it?),

I got my little toddler some of those cute stuffed animals and also a couple animal shape winter hats my wife circled on the ad for the stuff "she" wanted. My wife told me those stuffed animals were like $20 each normally and they were less than $2 each at their sale. An insane deal. They were all gone in about 1 hour after the doors opened. I was handing out requests for lizards, elephants, and koala bears to women 5 feet back who couldn't get to the animals at all! The equivalent of this deal would be those channellocks (which I also got) for $1.50 instead of $10 each!

Interestingly enough, those snap on 1650 psi pressure washers were not selling at all. I saw only about 3 purchased by the 400 people in the checkout line at my store. They also had a good deal on port-a-mate miter box/tool stands for $29 each. Those are useful and I got 2. I'm going to use one as a wood lathe stand I needed. I've found port-a-mate products to be very good for the price. I have a few of their under power tool mobile bases also I got at Menards once and they are nice. - Paul

Menards sure knows how to whip up a frenzy based on products that have nothing to do with tools or home improvement. The store is a nut house every year.

They sure do. I even fell for it while I was getting my channel locks, I bought a Bluetooth speaker for $15 to have in my bathroom. It's cheap enough I'm not worried about the moisture getting to it and it works pretty good.
