I'm new to Menards. I've heard and read so much fan fare about the place. When I moved to Louisville I ran to Indiana to check a store out. Made in the USA and high quality weren't anywhere near my first impression. Cool store, but it felt more like a Walmart with wood.
There's only so much a retailer can do when made in the USA products aren't available. Their house brands can only be USA made if they can find a manufacturer, and those are few and far between. For example, their Masterforce brand used to be rebranded Western Forge and Danaher USA made tools. That's long gone, so it's hard to blame Menards for that.
Menards stands out for their rock bottom pricing on decent brands, often beating Amazon during sales. They also offer a much larger selection than Lowes or Home Depot.
On topic, if you've never witnessed the chaos of a Menards on BF, I wouldn't suggest you start. Nothing in that ad is worth it!
Menards has plenty of Made in USA stuff. They seem very smart, and their prices are often lower than other home improvement stores, such as homedepot and Lowes.Menards does a good job of identifying Made in USA items and even has at least one or two "Made in USA" sales every year featuring all Made in USA products. I give them a lot of credit for that. If you filled a big box store with only Made in USA stuff, people couldn't afford it and would go to the next store... so I think it's a fair attempt.
Black Friday stuff is nearly always mainstream Chinese ****. As much as you might like a Made in USA Black Friday where you can casually shop all hand and power tools made here, it wouldn't bring people into the store.

Menards has a very large manufacturing plant in Wisconsin,.
I know Menard's is based in Wisconsin, but what do they actually manufacture?
