It's out.

Easily the worst of this year's awfully boring home improvement store ads. It's actually difficult finding any home improvement stuff in it? Primarily junk like off-brand electronics. zzzz

The 2-day portion of the sale has a Surebonder staple gun for $14.99... I've bought those before at Menards for $14.99 but it is a somewhat decent gun for the price AND it fires T50 staples

This Black Friday *****.

Sheesh if you didn't know it you'd think they are a direct competitor to Big Lots. Very very few USA tools from a company that prides itself on American made products.

Do they even sell tools or anything useful there? if you are looking for pet supplies, off-brand groceries, and really awful pots and pans, it is the place to go it seems. I have been to Menards dozens of times and always never find anything useful unless I wanted to reaplce a trip to the dollar store witha trip to the 'hardware' store :/

That little Stanley 5 gal. shopvac is WELL worth 20 bucks. I keep one of those next to my tablesaw, abuse the heck out of it and it keeps right on sucking.

Menards is great! I am simply complaining about the BF ad. Clearly the BORG stores are aiming towards genpop and not specifically the home improvement market, as that's what sells on BF.

They're the largest Bosch reseller out of HD/Lowes, have great prices on supplies like wood, fasteners, electrical, etc. and basically the best prices on almost everything they sell.

Their MasterForce screwdrivers are relabled Pratt & Read, the sockets/wrenches/etc. are USA Danaher like Crapsman used to be (not a huge fan but better than nothing!), and they traditionally have a fair return policy.

Over the years they've expanded a bit with the grocery/etc. but they still have a bigger selection than most. Just don't expect quality name brands on things like plumbing/lighting fixtures.

Menards actually has the best tool selection of HD, Lowe's, Menard's, IMO. They have lots of USA made tools under their Masterforce brand. It's all the same stuff that Craftsman used to be, before it became Chinese. The screwdrivers are made by Pratt-Read.

The ad isn't great, but the shop vac on the first page is a good deal if you want a cheap shop vac. The Stanley ones are made in China, BTW.

I'm surprised they don't have any of their house-brand USA tools in the ad. I wonder if they'll be on sale anyway, they're just not in the ad?

I actually like the Menard's plumbing department. They have USA made toilets, which most places don't carry, and they have other quality stuff I've noticed that I like. I agree on the lights, though. All the ones I looked at were Chinese, but that's been the case at all the big-box stores I've looked at.

My suggestion is just walk around and price stuff. They have lots of unadvertised stuff on sale.

Some of the stuff I thought whose a good deal:
1 insulated work pants $16
2 insulated bibs $40
Garage 75,000 BTU Gas/LP furnace $450

The last two times I have been in the Hansen socket holders have been on sale in the $8-9 range.

Menards always has a bunch of junk on sale on black Friday. They get crazy turnouts too, so I don't ever bother going there.
