Happened to find this while looking for metric Allen sockets. For $21, why not, or is it ****?

I looked at the Menards ad for that set.. The package lacks a USA symbol, and wears the same symbol I have seen on Crescent products produced in China..

I could find a better use for My $21

All of the Crescent sockets/wrenches/ratchets/etc. are either Taiwan or China. Crescent has very little US-made, if any.

So true.. I stocked up on some of their USA made adjustable wrenches about four years ago when I got wind of them going offshore... There may be a few USA products hanging on a peg somewhere; but Happy Hunting if looking for them.

As far as Crescent ratchets and sockets; were they ever produced in the USA? I don't recall ever seeing any with a USA label :dunno:

I actually found our True Value has a Crescent tool I like, and they still had Made in USA! It's like a pair of water pump (slip joint) pliers, but it had very shallow teeth. I use it for connecting/disconnecting stuck garden hose ends that get impossibly stuck, since it doesn't bite into the brass. All the water pump pliers I have are great on steel, but bite into the brass and create real sharp edges.

Long time ago, like 1950s60s, they used rebranded Wright ratchets. There is still a lone USA made spud adjustable on the shelf at my local HD, but its the only usa one left. As for the rats in question, i have an older set my dad bought me when i was 16, the tools all held up very well (coo taiwan)

I could use a pair when opening an over tightened can of Perm-a-tex gasket sealant.
